There are so many.
When I was 11 years old, I was diagnosed with Vitiligo.
In India, it was rare in the 1990’s.
No one knew that Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease, and the doctors didn’t offer any information.

Short term-
The effect of allopathic treatments was to shrink the white patches, but it only lasted for a few months, and then the patches would respire and new patches would start to appear.
The spread of the patches was controlled by the temporary use of Ayurvedic medications.
Nothing worked over the long term.
After my diagnosis, I had a talk with my parents and stopped taking all my medication.
After they failed to deliver on the promise, I gave up on the treatments.
In India, there was no mention of the fact that vitiligo is an auto-immune disease and that there is no cure.
The cure for this condition was claimed by every doctor I saw.
Even after multiple doctors and medications failed to cure it, my parents never gave up.
They hope and pray that I will be cured of this problem.
White patches cover most of my body today.
